Where background stops defining the future: consultancy paths open up at TriFinance
21 January 2026At TriFinance, we often say that careers don’t move in straight lines. They grow, shift, and evolve as people discover what energizes them. That belief shapes the way we work with our consultants: we invest in their development, we support their ambitions, and we make sure the missions they take on genuinely help them grow.
It’s a different approach from what many expect in consultancy. And it’s exactly what convinced Jean‑Luc Vanesse to join us three years ago.
Looking for variety, and not finding it in traditional consultancy
Jean‑Luc started his career as a general accountant, building seven years of solid experience. When he moved into consulting at a Big 4 firm, he hoped for more variety and exposure. Instead, he found himself on long assignments that were extended without his input, always in the same domain, and with limited personalized support.
It wasn’t the consultancy experience he had imagined.
A friend who already worked at TriFinance told him about our culture: the focus on growth, the mentoring, the training, and above all, the respect for consultants’ ambitions. That conversation made him reconsider what consultancy could look like. Not long after, he joined TriFinance.
“What I value most is simple: TriFinance respects consultants. My projects match my ambitions, not the other way around.” says Jean-Luc.
A mission that grows with you: Jean‑Luc at BICS
Jean‑Luc has been evolving at Belgacom International Carrier Services (BICS) for the past 1.5 years. BICS is a global telecom enabler within the Proximus Group, connecting operators and enterprises around the world. It’s a fast‑moving, international environment, and a perfect place for someone who likes to learn.
Starting in Tax
His first role focused on:
- Intercompany reconciliations during closing
- Acting as SPOC for audits and preparing audit files for several countries
- Collaborating with teams in Switzerland, Dubai, and beyond
It gave him a broader view of international finance processes and cross‑border compliance.
Moving into Treasury : because his impact was noticed
One of Jean‑Luc’s strengths is his reflex to improve processes from day one. He reviews what exists, streamlines it, creates what’s missing, and automates where possible.
That mindset didn’t go unnoticed.
When the Treasury Manager was temporarily absent, the team needed someone who could step in quickly. Thanks to the trust he had built, Jean‑Luc was asked to take on the role. He automated several tasks, gained efficiency, and expanded his expertise into treasury operations.
Exploring data migration
As BICS transitioned from SAP to Dynamics, Jean‑Luc was invited to support the data migration:
- Preparing templates
- Translating SAP data into Dynamics formats
- Coordinating migration for around ten countries
Today, he is also involved in a NetSuite to Dynamics migration for the US, while continuing to support treasury activities.
From bookkeeper, to tax, treasury, and data migration: all within three years. A trajectory that shows what’s possible when curiosity meets the right environment.
“I’ve been able to explore tax, treasury and data because TriFinance gives me the support and freedom to grow.”
Internal mobility as a mindset
Jean‑Luc’s story reflects something deeply rooted in TriFinance’s DNA: your background doesn’t limit your future.
“At TriFinance, my missions evolve with me. That’s what consultancy should feel like.”
Our consultants move across domains such as:
- Controlling & reporting
- Bookkeeping
- Data & analytics
- Finance transformation
- Risk & compliance
- ERP projects
- Business analysis
- Recruitment & payroll (TriHD)
We encourage movement because it’s how people grow, and how they stay engaged.
Why consultants choose TriFinance
- We invest in people through academies, mentoring, and training.
- We match missions to ambitions, not the other way around.
- We respect consultants’ choices, including whether a project continues or not.
- We support mobility, across teams, domains, and even industries.
- We believe in learning by doing, supported by a strong internal network.
Jean‑Luc’s journey at BICS is a great example of what happens when consultants are trusted, supported, and encouraged to explore. It’s a story of expertise, curiosity, and continuous learning, and one we’re proud to share.
