Picture this. You walk into a client’s office for the first time. People are moving fast. Decisions are being made under pressure. New regulations are landing. Cyber threats are rising. Talent is scarce. Processes are evolving faster than anyone can document them.
Everyone feels the urgency, but no one has the full picture. That’s where you come in.
At TriFinance Risk Advisory, you help organizations understand the risks that truly matter, strengthen the controls that protect them, and build the resilience they need to grow confidently in a world that’s changing faster than ever.
What we do: Elevating risk functions to their business advisor role
Most people think “risk” means compliance checklists, control matrices, and ticking boxes.
But that’s not what we do.
We help organizations transform Internal Audit, Internal Control, and Risk Management into proactive, strategic partners : functions that provide insight, advice, and foresight.
We use the latest technological tools, advanced analytics, and a pragmatic mindset to help clients:
- Identify emerging risks
- Strengthen their internal controls
- Build resilient processes
- Detect and recover value leakages
- Navigate regulatory change
- Prepare for what’s coming next
In a world surrounded by cybersecurity threats, regulatory requirements, financial pressure, and the war for talent, these functions have never been more critical.
The three worlds you’ll explore
1. Internal Audit: the air‑traffic control tower
Internal Audit is where you dive deep into how a company really works.
You’ll:
- Execute rolling risk assessments
- Develop risk‑based audit plans
- Execute audits across strategic, operational, financial, and compliance processes
- Use advanced analytics, enabling full population testing and create impact
- Support the business with the creation of pragmatic action plans, in line with audit recommendations
- Report directly to the Audit Committee
You become the person who sees the whole picture, and helps the organization act on it.
2. Internal Control: designing what keeps the business safe
Here, you work with the second line of defense to build internal control frameworks that are tailored to the organization’s size and complexity.
Not every company needs SOX. Not every control needs to be heavy. You help clients right‑size their approach, automate controls, and use continuous control monitoring dashboards to focus on what really matters.
3. Enterprise Risk Management: Seeing the risks others miss
You help leadership understand the strategic, operational, financial, and compliance risks that could impact their future.
You’ll use:
- Our tailor-made industry specific risk universes enriched with IIA and WEF insights
- Our ERA tool to assess likelihood, impact, and control maturity
- Heatmaps that visualize the risk landscape and its top risks instantly
You become the advisor who helps the client see around corners.
The types of questions clients bring us
Every mission starts with a pain point:
Internal Audit
“We don’t have the expertise to audit cybersecurity.”
“Our team is too small to cover the full audit lifecycle.”
“We don’t have an internal audit function at all. Where do we start?”
Internal Control
“We need a control framework that fits our size.”
“We’re facing recurring errors and value leakages. How do we fix them?”
Risk Management
“We lack sufficient insight into the strategic risks we are currently facing and those emerging in the near future “
“How do we connect risks to internal controls and mitigation plans?”
And you’re the one who helps them find clarity.
How you grow with us
You grow by doing, and by being exposed to real business challenges from day one.
You’ll develop:
- Logical reasoning
- Analytical depth
- The ability to deliver a clear message
- The skill to turn observations into meaningful recommendations
- A strong understanding of end‑to‑end processes
- Confidence in front of senior stakeholders
And you’re not boxed in.
After a few years, you’ll know what you love, and you can move within Advisory, or even support Business Integration projects. Your career expands, not narrows.
We welcome people from operational finance roles, external audit, AP/AR, or any role where you’ve learned to understand processes and think critically.
And no, you’re not expected to “sell.” You contribute to proposals, you learn the craft, but you’re not given sales targets.
What candidates often misunderstand
They think Risk is about compliance. It’s not.
It’s about understanding the business, identifying what could go wrong, and helping leaders make better decisions. Your observations must have impact. Your recommendations must be meaningful. Your work must help the organization move forward.
What we love most about this work
"The people, the variety, the exposure. The chance to sit with a client, observe how they work, and help them become stronger. Our team spirit is fun, curious, hardworking, and spread across Brussels, Antwerp, Ghent, Hasselt and even abroad." Annemie Pelgrims - Expert Practice Leader Risk Advisory
