DAX, (Data Analysis eXpressions) is at the core of all data models in Power BI, Excel and Analysis Services. To master this, you will need a combination of theory and practice. That way, you will be able to make more advanced calculations that can be required for some visuals
In Power BI Advanced – DAX we are making a deep dive in DAX including where and how to apply it to make Power BI show the desired results in your visuals.
The topics of this one-day course are:
- What is DAX
- Evaluation context
- CALCULATE function, including modifiers
- Iterators
- Calculation Groups
- Time Intelligence
- DAX for waterfall visuals
- Tabular Editor and DAX Studio
- Performance
The training contains an integrated exercise that turns theory into practice.
After the training, you will have a deeper understanding of DAX and will be able to craft advanced DAX that is both effective and performant
We can provide a virtual machine with all the required software and files. If you want to work with on your local machine make sure you have installed:
- Windows (Power BI does not run on Mac)
- Power BI Desktop (Required)
- Tabular Editor 3 Desktop or higher (Recommended, 30-day trail version available)
- DAX Studio (Recommended)
- Excel (Recommended)
- OneDrive (Recommended)
The training will be given in English unless you are all Dutch-speaking.
