This IFRS training program is designed for finance professionals and all stakeholders involved in IFRS reporting. It is equally suited for professionals who are new to IFRS or those looking for a clear and comprehensive refresher. If you want to deepen your understanding of International Financial Reporting Standards and their reporting requirements, this program will guide you step by step toward that goal.

The program goes beyond theoretical concepts as each training module is developed and instructed by IFRS experts with solid and pragmatic on the job experience. All modules share an interactive approach where theory is combined with practical and pragmatic examples. All training sessions consist of small groups allowing optimal interaction.

You will be thoroughly introduced to the different IFRS/IAS topics. Based on an executive summary of all IFRS/IAS frameworks we will guide you through the scope, objectives and the main principles, and illustrate with practical examples.

The training consists of 4 modules, each covering a specific area.

Module 1: The IFRS Framework, Financial statements and group structures

    • Introduction: Philosophy, Principles, and Objectives of IFRS.
    • IAS 1/IFRS 18: Presentation of Financial Statement
    • IAS 8: Accounting Policies, Changes in Accounting Estimates and Errors.
    • IFRS 10/11/12 IAS 28: Consolidated Financial Statements
    • IAS 24: Related party disclosures.
    • IFRS 3: Business Combinations

    Module 2: The Asset cycle highlights

    • IAS 16: Property, Plant and Equipment
    • IAS 38: Intangible Assets
    • IFRS 16: Leases
    • IAS 36: Impairment losses
    • IAS 2: Inventories
    • IFRS 5: Assets held for sale and discontinued operations

    Module 3: The Liability cycle highlights

    • IAS 19: Employee Benefits
    • IFRS 2: Share based payments
    • IAS 37: Provisions
    • IAS 12: Current & deferred income taxes
    • IFRS 7/9: Financial Instruments & disclosures

    Module 4: The Revenue and cash flow cycle

    • IFRS 15: Revenue recognition
    • IAS 20: Accounting for government grant
    • IAS 7: Statement of Cash Flows
    • IAS 10: Events after the Reporting Period

    Practical information
    This training is designed as a modular program, each module taking half a day. The complete set of modules results in a two-day training program:

    Day 1 – 23 September 2026

    • Lunch will be provided.
    • The training will be given in English unless you are all Dutch-speaking.
    • Prior knowledge in the field of IFRS is an advantage, but not required.
