Senior Accountant | For our client in the port of Antwerp

Your challenge

As Chief Accountant, you are responsible for the full end-to-end (A-Z) accounting of one or more entities and ensure that all numbers are correct, clear, and available on time. Thanks to your accuracy and analytical insight, you act as a strong sparring partner for management and safeguard the financial quality and continuity of the organization.
 

Your duties include:

• Overseeing the correct processing of monthly, quarterly, and annual closes
• Preparing annual accounts and tax returns, and coordinating audits
• Ensuring correct VAT processing and closely following up on tax and accounting regulations
• Analyzing financial results and translating them into clear reports and advice for management
• Acting as a coaching and technical point of contact, while invoicing and the follow-up of outstanding receivables are handled by other colleagues within the organization
• Working closely with internal stakeholders and external partners such as auditors, accountants, and tax advisors

Your profile

• You hold a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accountancy, Taxation, or an equivalent financial field
• You have at least 2 years of experience in a responsible accounting role
• You possess a thorough knowledge of Belgian accounting and tax legislation
• Experience with ERP systems and an excellent knowledge of Excel are a must
• You work in a structured, precise manner and take responsibility proactively
