Beyond Finance: how Assia is building a Career that grows with her

4 June 2025

At TriFinance, we believe that a consulting career should be shaped by curiosity, challenge, and continuous growth. For Assia, a consultant in our Financial Institutions team within the Transition & Support department, that belief has become a reality.

With six years of experience in the insurance sector, Assia brought with her a strong foundation in non-life insurance underwriting and claims management when she joined TriFinance in 2022. What attracted her to consultancy? The chance to keep learning, to discover new environments, and to play an active role in making the insurance industry more efficient.

“I knew I didn’t want to settle into one fixed role,” Assia explains. “I wanted variety, challenge, and opportunities to grow, and TriFinance offered exactly that.”

From non-life to life insurance: a steep learning curve with real impact

Just two weeks after her onboarding, Assia started her first mission at a major insurance company as a Policy Officer/Underwriter for Life Insurance (2nd pillar). The shift from non-life to life insurance was significant, but Assia jumped in with her trademark motivation and eagerness to learn.

Her mission involved:

  • Handling complex 2nd pillar contracts in light of changing legislation (2021–2023)

  • Supporting insurance brokers: sometimes fielding up to 50 calls per half day

  • Managing incoming payments, tax documentation, and contract cancellations

  • Assisting with 3rd pillar services and incoming requests from brokers and clients

Despite the technicality of the work, Assia quickly gained her footing. She even became such a valued member of the team that she was invited back for a second mission and offered a permanent contract. But she chose to stay with TriFinance.

“I was flattered by the offer, but I wasn’t ready to narrow my focus. At TriFinance, I get to explore different projects and continue growing in multiple directions.”

Learning, sharing, and thriving in the TriFinance ecosystem

What helped Assia succeed so quickly? A mix of self-drive and strong support from TriFinance’s BaseCamp and mentoring system.

“They helped me understand not just the job at hand, but where I could go next,” she says. “We looked together at how I could learn during the mission, but also how to plan the next step in my career.”

She also found tremendous value in the internal TriFinance communities, where consultants share knowledge, exchange insights on sector trends, like AI in insurance, and challenge each other’s thinking.

“Sometimes, just talking things through with colleagues helps you realize a process isn’t as complex as it seemed. That kind of peer exchange is really empowering.”

Why TriFinance?

"I choose to stay with TriFinance because it’s more than a company driven by numbers and profit, it’s a place where people genuinely matter. What really sets TriFinance apart is how deeply it cares for its employees, not just in their professional growth, but on a personal level too. Their empathy, flexibility, and understanding make a real difference, especially when it comes to balancing work and personal life. It’s rare to find an employer that values both your performance and your well-being the way TriFinance does."

Consulting in Financial Institutions: much more than just Finance

Assia’s journey highlights how diverse the work within the Financial Institutions team really is. Her missions may be rooted in insurance, but her role touches legal, operational, IT, and customer-facing departments. She handles processes end-to-end, collaborates across silos, and builds expertise that goes far beyond classic financial functions.

Her advice to new consultants?

“Be curious. Be willing to learn fast. You’ll need to adapt quickly, but you’re never alone. At TriFinance, there’s a strong support system to help you make the most of every experience.”

Assia’s story is just one example of how our consultants are redefining what it means to work in finance. At TriFinance, we empower our people to build careers on their own terms, across industries, missions, and domains.
