When Liese Bolle joined TriFinance as a consultant, she brought with her a solid base in accounting, a strong curiosity to learn, and a personal commitment to sustainability. Two years later, her journey has taken her from traditional finance work to the fast-evolving fields of ESG and e-invoicing, proving that growth often comes from daring to step into the unknown.
Laying the groundwork in accounting
Before taking the leap into consultancy, Liese worked at an accounting firm for two years. This was where theory met reality for her. “Those years allowed me to put my knowledge into practice and gain a real understanding of the day-to-day challenges businesses face,” she explains. “It also gave me the confidence to step into consultancy at TriFinance, knowing I had a solid foundation to build on.”
Broadening horizons
In her personal life, sustainability had always been important to Liese. Early 2025, an opportunity came her way at TriFinance: transferring from T&S Antwerp to CFO Advisory Services. “It felt like the perfect match,” she recalls. “Suddenly, I could work on topics I’m passionate about, while helping clients navigate a complex and important area.”
The move marked a turning point in her career. For the first six months in her new role, she immersed herself in ESG reporting projects, helping clients translate regulatory requirements into practical actions.
But her journey didn’t stop there. While ESG reporting was her initial focus, Liese soon found herself exploring completely new territories. She contributed to a consolidation project and joined TriFinance’s internal e-invoicing initiative. “Both were brand-new domains for me,” she says. “Through the e-invoicing project, I was introduced to process management which sparked my interest in process improvement work as well.”
For Liese, these experiences were not just about learning technical content; they were about embracing change. “I’m proud that I didn’t restrict myself to one subject,” she says. “By keeping an open mind, I’ve broadened my skills and discovered new areas I’m excited to explore.”
The human side of consultancy
Ask Liese what she enjoys most about consultancy, and she’ll talk about the people. She thrives on collaboration, whether it’s with colleagues or clients, and especially values in-person workshops. “Those face-to-face sessions are where the real engagement happens,” she explains.
In ESG projects, workshops with clients are key to understanding their current situation and co-creating solutions. “It’s where the advisory part truly comes alive,” she adds. “I love seeing that shift from initial uncertainty to a shared understanding of where we’re going.”
To Liese, an advisory project is never just about delivering a predefined task list. “It’s about understanding the client’s needs, thinking along with them, and co-creating sustainable solutions,” she explains.
This means navigating complex, evolving regulations and tailoring advice to each client’s unique situation. “Working as a team allows us to combine different experiences and best practices,” Liese says. “That’s when going the extra mile becomes second nature, and sometimes, it means going several miles beyond.”
Growth at every stage
Looking back, Liese sees her time at TriFinance as a series of growth moments. Her first two years in T&S allowed her to strengthen her finance expertise and share her knowledge with clients. The move to CFO Advisory Services marked a fresh chapter - new colleagues, new topics, and new challenges.
Each project has helped her sharpen both technical and social skills. “Consultancy constantly pushes me out of my comfort zone,” she says. “That’s what makes it so rewarding.” Looking ahead, she’s excited to see where this journey will take her next - she’s eager to continue growing, learning, and making an impact.
Liese’s story is proof that professional growth is not just about moving forward - it’s about being willing to move in new directions, embrace challenges, and turn passions into impact.
