Your growth at your pace

When we ask Jona and Frederik why they chose TriFinance, the answer sounds exactly the same: a people-oriented approach. “I was mainly looking for a place where I would have the space to find my own way. What stood out for me personally was the trust I received from the start, even if you don’t yet have years of experience. At TriFinance, it’s not just about what you are already capable of, but more importantly which direction you want to go. By taking on different challenging projects, I discover step by step which role really suits me as a finance professional,” says Jona.

Each project offers new learning opportunities and insights, bringing you closer to the path you have chosen for yourself each time. “My first projects revolved around supplier bookkeeping and general bookkeeping (AP and GL bookkeeping). By building that experience at my own pace, I can now take the first steps toward a controlling role, an ambition I expressed from the beginning. Through a combination of trust, flexibility and variety, my career path is now really accelerating,” explains Jona.

Developing skills with impact

Frederik also agrees: “Working in different organizations and being supported by a strong network? That seemed like the best way to grow quickly. In addition, TriFinance focuses on personal development and has a ‘career entrepreneurship mindset’, which completely matches my goal of gaining experience and expanding my professional skills within the public sector. Furthermore, working in different client environments has taught me to deal with challenging situations and communicate my ideas clearly.”

Growing at your own pace also means being able to develop your skills qualitatively. “Over the past three years at TriFinance, I have been able to extensively develop both my hard and soft skills. Through the variety of projects and training, I improved my technical skills, including Power Query and Excel. But I have also been able to hone my soft skills by learning to proactively engage in conversations, professionalize my communication and collaborate with different people in a team,” says Jona.

Who are Jona and Frederik?

Jona Houben started at TriFinance 3 years ago and in that time grew into an experienced Project Consultant within the business unit Transition & Support Hasselt. With completed projects within Accounts Payable (AP) and general bookkeeping, she is now ready to take the next steps in a controlling role. Jona’s ambition? To grow into a role where she can add value by performing analytical tasks that support management decisions.

Frederik Nachtergaele started his adventure at TriFinance 6 years ago. As a Senior Project Consultant within Public Sector, his experience lies mainly with local entities and organizations such as De Watergroep, Stad Aalst and Agentschap Binnenlands Bestuur where he fulfills roles in project and process management. His ambition? To lead organizational change initiatives with multiple stakeholders where he can have a meaningful impact.

“At TriFinance, I am supported by an internal team of professionals. For example, I have regular meetings with my Career Advisor, a familiar face from the BaseCamp team who looks at the next steps in your career together with me. This way TriFinance also gets a clear picture of my preferences, so they can look for projects that are in line with my ambitions. So it is definitely not an imposed path, but really a growth path which you map out yourself,” Jona explains.

Sometimes, however, growth also means: stepping out of your comfort zone. “A moment when I really felt supported in my career growth was when TriFinance gave me the opportunity to learn more about business development, even though it was outside of my initial role. By having an open conversation with my manager, I was able to express my particular interest in customer relations and strategic growth. This interest certainly did not go unnoticed, as I later became involved in business development meetings and events to learn more,” Frederik adds.
